Ski Area Management's circulation is 100 percent paid and reaches 98% of the North American resort industry with considerable paid circulation overseas, with subscribers in Australia, New Zealand, South America, Japan, Korea, and Europe. Additional unpaid distribution is made at important industry conventions throughout the year, at both the national and regional level totaling 3,533 copies. SAM goes not only to owner and managers levels, but also to supervisors, foremen and other decision-influencers.

Pass-along readership within each ski resort's operations is a major multiplier of the magazine's reach. According to a reader survey conducted by Leisure Trends in the spring of 2006, nearly three quarters of SAM readers share (pass-along) their copies with other staff. For example 31% pass along their copy to 3-5 other resort staff. The significant pass-along rate is a good indicator of the interest and value of SAM to its readers, as well as the degree to which it gets read extensively in all departments throughout the resorts. Average readership per issue total 7,617.

Another indicator of SAM's credibility and lasting impression is found in the offices of many resorts--catalogued issues of SAM going back sometimes 10 or more years. In addition, we've often been told that SAM occupies a place of honor next to National Geographic in "the john" and we think that's a good indicator of SAM's value too!
