PISTENBULLY SNOWSAT MAINTAIN

jan21 np snowsat
SNOWsat Maintain is the new digital tool developed by Kässbohrer for organizing and tracking ski area vehicle fleet operations and maintenance. Using the SNOWsat Maintain mobile app (Android and iOS), ski area personnel can manage equipment, assign tasks, record issues, and more—directly from their phone or tablet. The cloud-based app is also available offline. Users can also create checklists or assign maintenance tasks, and verify tasks have been completed. In addition, the program can keep a service log of all vehicles, store all vehicle-specific documents, and inventory management. SNOWsat Maintain interfaces with the PistenBully online spare parts store, making it easy to order parts. All communication can happen through the program, which eliminates the need for group meetings—so staff can practice safe distancing.

GIVEGO

jan21 np givego
Givego—a mobile app that offers subscribers expert coaching in several sports—and the Professional Ski Instructors of America-American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) have partnered to bring expert advice, instruction, and encouragement to snowsports enthusiasts. The app allows users to upload 20 seconds of footage of themselves skiing or riding, and then either pick their pro and wait to receive frame-by-frame video analysis, or receive the feedback in real time from an available instructor. Resorts can activate their team of certified instructors to provide analysis for users, with the goal of bridging the gap between a free tutorial online and an in-person lesson. Givego is currently available on iOS.

GOPLAY

jan21 np go play
Canadian company e4soft has developed GoPlay, a new e-commerce solution that can house all resort products—from lift tickets and food and beverage to rentals and ski lessons—on one marketplace platform. It connects potential customers to resort products in the marketplace via the GoPlay app; the platform can be integrated into a resort’s website, also. There is no investment in new technology required—resorts simply register on the marketplace platform and load products for sale or rent. Customers that purchase through GoPlay must create a user profile, which develops a qualified database for future campaigns and sales reports. Other features include kiosk redemption for lift tickets; food and beverage order tracking, alerts, and controlled pickup using RFID technology; and scheduling options for rentals and lessons.

PETZL NEWTON FALL-ARREST HARNESS

jan21 np petzl
The Newton fall-arrest harness is designed for comfort and ease of use while working at height. It includes integrated equipment loops and keepers for easy access to equipment. The anatomical design is close-fitting, but also offers freedom of movement. The sternal Fast automatic buckle simplifies securing the harness on the wearer. Shoulder straps and leg loops are equipped with self-locking Doubleback buckles for quick adjustment. The Newton also has stowage systems for the MGO connectors on fall arrest lanyards located on each shoulder strap. In case of a fall, this system releases the MGO connectors and allows the absorber to be deployed. Fall indicators are also located on the sternal and dorsal attachment points; if a fall indicator is visible after a fall, the harness must be retired. The Newton is certified to North American, European, and Russian standards.
