KATV Opens New Corporate Office, Service Facility

  • Push to The Latest: No
Among the speakers at the opening festivities was Kassbohrer Gelandefahrzeug AG CEO Jens Rottmair, who recounted the company’s growth from its introduction in North America in 1971 to its current state. PistenBully was distributed by Valley Engineering until 19980, when Kassbohrer set up its North American subsidiary. The company has been based in Reno since 1998.

The new facility encompasses more than 100,000 square feet, and is clearly designed for increased service—and growth. The company does $270 million in revenue in North America currently, a 400 percent increase over the past 16 years, according to Rottmair.

Rottmair said he was “proud to be here to celebrate our new owned facility,” and added, “losers have a meeting, winners have a party!” To make sure everyone understood where KATV stands by that measure, his declaration was followed by a champagne toast.

Kassbohrer CEO John Gilbert called the assembled managers and employees to the stage to recognize their efforts to help bring the company to its current level of success.

Kassbohrer's new warehouse is built to handle both service of PistenBully machines, including the 400s and 600s in the background, and manufacture of Scouts. The far wall partially visible in the photo can store 96 tillers.

Guests explored the grounds of the new North American headquarters for Kassbohrer All Terrain Vehicles in Reno, Nev., during the facility's grand opening celebration July 24.

The facility also houses a large stockpile of parts. The three tiers in the background? Yep, parts for as far as the eye can see.

Guests included PistenBully staff and resort customers such as the above, left to right: Paul Swanson, PistenBully; Dave Grenier, Peak Resorts; Perry Eisert, Welch Village, Minn.; Josh Lempert, PistenBully; and Mike Manley, Stowe, Vt.
