The wheel itself was part of an impressive $550 million project. Each of the 28 cars, manufactured by Sigma, carries 40 people and weighs 25 tons and are individually rotated by electric motors. Getting the cabins to the site was also a daunting task. Once assembled locally, the cabins were moved at 3 a.m. through the streets of Las Vegas, which took over three hours as crews had to dismantle (and put back together) 13 overhead lines and lights in order to pass. 

The rest of the evening involved an Elvis impersonator, more food, and bowling... all of which will stay in Vegas.
