Tregaskis’s 40-year career in the industry began at Park City Mountain Resort, Utah, in 1984. He went on to hold guest service and food service leadership roles at Snow Summit, Calif., and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyo., and spent 17 years as the GM of Bear Mountain, Calif., before joining Eldora as general manager in 2015. Tregaskis also served on the California Ski Industry Association board for 17 years and the Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) board for 10. He is currently vice chair of CSCUSA.

“I have had an amazing, challenging, and fun career in this business. My wife Bonnie and I recognize how lucky we’ve been to live in the beautiful resort towns we have so enjoyed,” said Tregaskis, adding, “The past few years have been deeply rewarding. I’m grateful to our entire [Eldora] team, and I’m exceedingly proud of the progress we’ve made. I’m confident that Eldora will continue to thrive."

While at Eldora, Tregaskis oversaw significant enhancements and expansions to the guest experience and resort infrastructure, including installation of the Alpenglow high-speed six-person chairlift, upgraded snowmaking capabilities, expanded parking facilities, and construction of the Caribou Lodge and Ignite Adaptive Sports building. He fostered a strong partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, and led the resort through an ownership transition when POWDR acquired it in 2016.

“Brent’s leadership has elevated Eldora’s standing within the ski community, locally and across Colorado,” said POWDR CEO Justin Sibley. “He has built a strong team and is leaving Eldora in a healthy position to continue delivering the best ski experience on the Front Range. I commend him for a remarkable and meaningful career and wish him well in retirement.”

Eldora is currently for sale. Interim GM Dobias will ensure continuity and strategic oversight as the resort navigates “the final stages” of the sales process, according to a press release. The town of Nederland has made a push to acquire the resort in partnership with local investors, but no further information about a pending acquisition was available.

Dobias previously served as the interim GM at Mt. Bachelor, Ore., another POWDR-owned resort also currently listed for sale. A community group has expressed interest in buying Bachelor.
