Non-Profit Group Hopes to Restore Minnesota Hill

  • Push to The Latest: No

Local businessmen formed the non-profit DMRA in 2010. The group conducted a feasibility study that envisioned skiing, snowboarding, tubing, XC skiing, camping, biking and hiking. DMRA has purchased the 200-acre ski area site and has been conducting a low-key effort to raise funds and gauge interest in the project. The response has encouraged DMRA to go public with its plan and fundraising drive. The group has already chosen an architectural firm to design a four-season base lodge.

In another positive development, the Becker County Board last week approved a conditional use permit for the recreation area, contingent on resolution of traffic issues that will result from reopening the hill.
