SAM Magazine—Broomfield, Colo., May 15, 2015—A number of leadership changes first detailed by Vail Resorts last fall are currently underway.

John Buhler, current COO of Keystone, is transitioning to COO of Breckenridge. Buhler joined Vail Resorts in 1994 as manager of the Breckenridge ski school. He became ski school assistant director in 1996, director of the ski school in 2000, and then the director of skier services in 2007. He became vice president and general manager of Keystone Resort in 2010, and then vice president and COO of Keystone in 2013.

Mike Goar, general manager of Canyons since 2007, has been promoted to COO of Keystone. Goar has 38 years of ski resort industry experience, including 27 years at Solitude where he was the executive vice president and general manager. Over the past seven years at Canyons, Goar directed $37 million in on-mountain capital improvements, including new lifts, snowmaking, restaurants, and ski terrain.

Both Buhler and Goar assume their new responsibilities on May 18.

Later this summer, Patricia Campbell, executive vice president and COO of Breckenridge, will become president of the company's mountain division. Campbell joined Vail Resorts in 1999 as director of ski school at Breckenridge and has been COO of Breckenridge since 2009. She has also had oversight responsibility of Keystone Resort since 2011 and was COO there for three years.

Blaise Carrig, president of the company's mountain division, will step down from his position but remain with the company in a full-time role as senior mountain advisor until he retires in 2017. Carrig joined Vail Resorts in 2002 as COO of Heavenly and became president of the mountain division in 2008.
