Mt. Hood Meadows Restructures To Grow Multi-Season Business

Meadows COO Jake Bolland said, “This reorganization is designed to propel our company forward to develop multi-season culinary, educational, mountain lifestyle, lodging and entertainment experiences that extend beyond our winter recreation offerings. While winter snowsports activities and experiences on Mt. Hood will always be at our core, these new offerings will help develop year ‘round guest experiences, employment and revenue streams for our company.”

Warila is now VP mountain operations and planning. In a 40-year career at Meadows, he has helped plan the resort’s expansion and capital improvement projects, and has overseen the installation of seven chairlifts. “We are actively developing plans for facilities that will enhance both the summer and winter experience at MHM,” he said.

Riss, who began working as a part-time instructor at Meadows more than 20 years ago, becomes VP of resort and commercial operations. Riss rose to become assistant director of the ski and snowboard school and then director of guest services two years ago. Among his new roles: director of the new MHM store in Portland that serves as both retail store and in-town hangout for MHM fans.

Troskey is VP Administration; he joined Meadows as director of human resources in October 2014 after 13 years in HR at Stevens Pass Ski Resort.

In tandem with the plans to expand its summer operations, Meadows recently updated its logo to remove the words “Ski Resort.” The resort’s new tagline is, “Your Home Mountain.”
