SAM Magazine-Aspen, Colo., Apr. 25, 2007-RockResorts, owned by Vail Resorts, will manage Aspen's venerable Hotel Jerome for Elysian Worldwide and Lodging Capital, once this investment group completes its purchase of the 92-room icon.

The Jerome sits in the heart of downtown Aspen and is recognized as one of the finest small hotels in ski country. The property was originally built in 1889 during Aspen's mining boom years and rivaled London's fabled Savoy in reputation for its modern appointments and stylish service. The property is currently a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, Virtuoso Collection, the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts Program, and recognized as one of the Historic Hotels of America.

"The addition of the celebrated Hotel Jerome to the RockResorts portfolio exemplifies our commitment to growing a luxury hotel brand and providing an outstanding guest experience in truly unique, spectacular settings," says Rob Katz, chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. "The Hotel Jerome is synonymous with luxury in every aspect as one of the best places to stay in ski country."

RockResorts' involvement in managing the Hotel Jerome is dependent upon the joint venture between Elysian and Lodging Capital closing on the acquisition of the hotel, which is currently expected to occur within the next 45 days.
