Eastern Areas Launch Management Training Program; Deadline Near

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine-Lyndonville, Vt., Apr. 19, 2007-Facing a shortage of qualified middle managers, a group of senior managers in the Northeast have helped create the first-ever Resort Industry Leadership Institute (RILI), a management training program for mid- and senior-level managers. The Institute will take place at Lyndon State College, Vt., June 13-15, 2007. But registration closes more than a month earlier-April 23-so that each participant can receive a personalized Leadership-360 Assessment, a detailed performance review, at the Institute.

In addition to the Leadership-360 Assessment, participants can follow one of two main tracks, each of which consists of a series of elective offerings customized to participant needs for strategic and collaborative thinking and leading. The Strategic Leadership Track focuses on developing skill sets with the straightest connection to the long-term bottom line, such as high tech decision-making, global sustainability, changing climate, and leisure outlook and trends. The Collaborative Leadership Track is oriented toward daily needs in the people side of business, such as critical vs. urgent decision-making, mentorship and communication.

Bill Jensen of Vail Resorts will give the keynote address, A Leader's Journey, on June 13. Pat Corso, of the National Resort Management Group and the Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods, will address Re-Inventing the Organization through Leadership on June 15.

The Institute is limited to 50 participants. For an application and/or more information, head to www.lyndonstate.edu/RiLi. \
