EOS Ventures, SED to Promote Renewable Energy

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine-Hancock, Mass., Mar. 11, 2008-EOS Ventures, LLC, co-owned by Jiminy Peak CEO Brian Fairbank, is partnering with Sustainable Energy Developments, Inc. (SED), which installed the wind turbine at Jiminy in the summer of 2007, to promote the development of renewable energy.

"More than three years ago, we embarked on a journey and we didn't know where it was going to take us," said Fairbank. "We had no idea we were paving the way for something new and exciting and setting an example for others to follow."

EOS Ventures arose from the successful Zephyr project at Jiminy. Its primary aim is to provide renewable on-site power generation solutions to large-scale energy users including businesses, municipalities, schools and farms. EOS is co-owned by Fairbank, his son, Tyler, and Jiminy co-owner Joseph O'Donnell. Tyler is CEO. SED will serve as EOS's general contractor for wind projects.

"Clearly the escalations of energy costs are creating challenges for large scale energy users," said Tyler Fairbank, "and on-site energy generation and renewable technologies offer real solutions.

"Although wind projects will be our initial focus, bio-fuels, bio-mass, and other renewable technologies are part of the larger business design for EOS," he said. The company will be located at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort.
