SAM Names This Year's SAMMY Winners

SAM Magazine--Woodbury, Conn., May 16, 2007--SAM Magazine has announced the recipients of the 2008 SAMMY Leadership Awards and the third annual SAM Diversity Award. They are:

1) David Amirault, Interactive Services Manager at Freeskier magazine. Dave, also known as Digi Dave, is a web genius who has been pioneer online for resorts and now freeskier.com with his contribution to the world of on-line video and on-line photo catalogs.

2) James Grant, Director of Lift Operations at Heavenly Valley, Calif. James started at Heavenly on an H2B from Australia and never looked back. He now oversees 175 employees with his unique leadership style and some massive uphill infrastructure.

3) Kathy Hubbard, Administrative Manager for the California Ski Industry Association. Kathy has only been on the job for a couple of years, but has already made her mark with a unique technical training program and for building better communication with the Forest Service.

4) Mountain High, Calif., is this year's recipient of the third annual SAM Diversity Leadership Award. Fifty-two percent of Mountain High's clientele come from minority groups, and that's no accident. Through marketing, outreach and personnel, this southern California area truly embraces diversity.

"It's always exciting to see the worthy pool of nominees each year and this year was certainly no exception," says publisher Jennifer Rowan.

"To see the industry get behind these awards through peer nomination is great," adds associate publisher Olivia Rowan. "We're thrilled with this year's recipients as we feel they will be ones to watch down the road."
