SAM Magazine-Mammoth Lakes, Calif., May 26, 2008-Skiers and snowboarders have one more week to enjoy spring conditions at Mammoth Mountain. Cool temperatures and a foot of fresh snow over the Memorial Day holiday spurred the resort to stay open anothr week, through June 1.

"I know this is very last minute, but so was the snow," said Mammoth Mountain vice president Bill Cockroft of the decision to extend the season.

Mammoth is currently reporting two to five feet of base and legendary spring conditions. Beginning May 27, Broadway Express, Facelift and Chair 23 will open 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This makes the always-popular "ski and golf in the same day" experience very accessible at Mammoth. The resort's Sierra Star Golf Course, just minutes away from the lifts, is now open for the season.
