Crested Butte new brand promise, "Inspiring your passion for adventure," will be visible resort-wide, from signage and employee uniforms to the architecture of future real estate development. "Providing higher levels of guest service and standards that match our brand promise is our focus," added Ethan Mueller, director of operations.

It will be easier for guests to access their adventures next season. Delta Airlines will begin direct jet service to Gunnison from Atlanta and Salt Lake City in December 2008. American Airlines will add direct jet service from Chicago to complement its current daily Dallas flights, and United will expand service with three jet flights daily from Denver, enabling connections from hundred of other cities worldwide.

The Kids' World ski school will get a completely new "Kids Base Camp" concept. The new themed Camp highlights exploration and adventure both on and off the mountain. The current building will be completely redesigned, from a new entrance and arrival area to remodeled kid-friendly bathrooms and play areas.

The Treasury Center building in the base area will be redesigned to improve a number of guest services, including rental and retail operations and a ski valet and overnight storage service (free to slopeside hotel guests, for a fee for all others). The former lower-level location of the Crested Butte Ski and Snowboard Shop will become a "Pizza Zone." The Outpost building in the base area will also be re-designed and opened as a day lodge.

The Elevation Hotel & Spa will complete a $25 million remodel including all 260 luxury rooms, 11,000 sq ft. spa and fitness center, slope side sundeck and fire pit and completely new Atmosphere Restaurant & Bar.

On-mountain improvements will include expanded expert terrain in Teocalli bowl and an expanded terrain park system. Snow Igloos will sprout at Kids Base Camp and outside the Ice Bar Restaurant, to serve up adventure play to kids and après ski cocktails to adults. For summer use, CB is expanding mountain bike trails and adding a stage and concert venue at the base of the mountain.

The upgrades are all part of making CBMR more family-friendly, guest-oriented and aesthetically pleasing. "We want to raise the bar again and continue to ensure that we deliver the best overall resort experience for our guests," said owner Tim Mueller. \
