SAM Magazine-Seven Springs, Pa., July 8, 2008-Seven Springs Mountain Resort has appointed Eric Mauck as its new CEO. Mauck, formerly the resort's COO, replaces Scott Bender, who stepped down from the position after 25 years to lead the management team at Hidden Valley, Pa.

Mauck's appointment will ensure a smooth leadership transition, said Seven Springs president Bob Nutting. "We are excited to already have the right person in place in Eric who, along with the strong support of our seasoned, experienced leadership team, can carry out our strategy for long-term success," Nutting said. "I am confident that the improvements our customers have seen over the past two years are only the beginning."

Prior to joining Seven Springs in 2007, Mauck served as vice president of operations of Oglebay Resort and Conference Center for five years, in which position he was responsible for overall operations of the resort. He had served in a number of direct operations roles at the resort in the prior 20 years.

"I am very proud of all of our accomplishments and the staff at Seven Springs," said the departing Bender. "The resort is in great shape with the new ownership of the Nutting family and the great leadership team that is in place. I have had a wonderful career at Seven Springs and greatly appreciate all of the opportunities I've been afforded."

"I have a great deal of respect for Scott as a person and a friend," said Nutting. "He has worked tirelessly on behalf of Seven Springs for many years. We wish him nothing but the best in the future."

In the two years the Nutting family has owned Seven Springs, the resort has added added a high-speed six-pack as well as a new "superpipe" and terrain park, and completely renovated its 418-room hotel, and meeting rooms. Other facility upgrades include the golf pro shop, horseback riding stables and meeting rooms. The resort has also added and improved a number of summer amenities, including a new sporting clays course, downhill and cross country mountain bike trails, disc golf programs, as well as upgrades to the volleyball courts, tennis courts and kids' camp programs. \
