SAM Magazine-Orlando, Fla., Oct. 15, 2008-Stephen Rice has been named vice president and managing director at CNL Lifestyle Company, LLC. In his new role, Rice will focus on asset management within CNL's ski and mountain lifestyle portfolio and work closely with the company's acquisitions team to expand CNL's holdings. CNL Lifestyle Company is the advisor to CNL Lifestyle Properties, a real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in lifestyle properties such as ski resorts, attractions and golf courses.

"As an instrumental part of our investment team, Steve helped in expanding our mountain lifestyle portfolio while successfully managing more than $500 million in investments," said Byron Carlock, president and CEO of CNL Lifestyle Properties. "He is a true veteran of the ski industry and we look forward to his continued leadership and expertise."

Previously, Rice was VP of investments and managed CNL Lifestyle Properties' portfolio, duties he continues to hold. Before joining CNL, Rice served as executive VP and chief operating officer of Intrawest Eastern Region, where he managed all aspects of four-season resort operations for five mountain resorts. \
