For the past six years, Cutters Camp has hosted terrain park builders each May at Timberline for a week of hands-on, educational experiences. In response to increasing demand, SAM Magazine and Peak Resorts are hosting a second camp this year, at Mount Snow April 6-10. The Timberline camp will take place April 27-May 1.
Cutters Camp was created to open dialogue on freestyle terrain and provide a resource where frontline employees could get together and discuss park safety, risk management, design, construction, operations and management. A big part of Cutters has always been the sharing of information that goes on between the 50-plus resorts that gather each spring. The camp is based on the belief that, whatever a resort's budget, machinery or snow conditions, the key to a safe and successful park is to have knowledgeable, well trained staff.
The camp at Timberline Lodge offers a one-of-a-kind location on Mt. Hood, open year-round with a team committed to being on the cutting edge of freestyle terrain development. The camp at Mount Snow will offer a central northeast location with the same level of dedication to freestyle terrain. The camp will utilize Carinthia's five parks, superpipe and extensive snowmaking and machine resources to guarantee a quality program on and off the hill.
Sponsors of this year's camp include Burton, FallLine, Ohara, PistenBully, Prinoth and Zaugg. \
