SAM Magazine-Granby, Québec, Jan. 16, 2009-The Leitner Technologies Group has acquired the Camoplast Track Machine Group and will integrate the division into Prinoth, Leitner's snow grooming division. Prinoth will manage production and sales of the group's utility and municipal vehicles as well as its existing Alpine machines. Leitner expects that the acquisition will be completed during February 2009.

Sales of municipal and utility vehicles produced by Camoplast Track Machines Group, including vehicles used for transport, tool carrying, public works, and vegetation management, have increased steadily over the past three years. Camoplast is the dominant market leader in North America due to its technical sophistication and service support, according to Leitner.

"This transaction is a very important step for Prinoth to enlarge its existing product range," said Michael Seeber, president of Leitner Technologies. "We are adding to the existing core business a second main pillar which is independent to the seasonal snow grooming business."

With nearly 100 sales and service centers worldwide, Leitner Technologies anticipates "considerable sales growth in countries like China, India and Russia due to the newly acquired product portfolio," Seeber added.

The executive management and all operations, including development, design, production, sales and service, will continue to be headquartered in Granby, Quebec. \
