Skiset Rental Giant Comes to North America

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine--December 1, 2009--Skiset, a European ski and snowboard rental company, has expanded to North America and plans to partner with over 70 stores in the U.S. and Canada this coming season. Skiset has launched its North American websites, www.skiset.us and www.skiset.ca, and will sell directly to the consumer.

Skiset allows customers to go on-line and choose and reserve rental equipment ahead of their trip, and each of the independently-owned rental outlets that have been recruited by Skiset will provide the equipment and service. According to Skiset, the rental shops will benefit from increased exposure to the consumer travel market through Skiset's brand recognition and strategic partnerships. As well, Skiset will act as a buying group for its partner stores to create volume orders for leveraged discounts on equipment.

Tony Lyle, VP North America for Skiset (and former head of international sales and marketing for Vail Resorts) has even bigger plans for the company down the road: "We plan to have more than 150 partner stores for the 2010/2011 winter season and over 400 by 2012/2013."
