SAM Magazine--January 4, 2010--Two-time World Champion Lindsey Vonn was named Female Athlete of the Decade by NBC's Universal Sports. Vonn joins Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt who was chosen best male athlete of the decade.

"It's incredible to think about where I was as a person and an athlete in 2000 and then compare that to where I am now, says Vonn. "Skiing is my life and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I've traveled the world, raced in two Olympics and am getting ready for a third."

While Vonn has won two overall world champion titles, two downhill titles and a super G title, she has yet to win an Olympic medal.

"I've never won an Olympic medal--one of any color will be just fine for me," she says.

Stay tuned. The winter Olympics are just around the corner, starting February 12 in Vancouver.
