SAM Magazine-Fresno, Calif., Mar. 19, 2010-Industry veteran Tim Cohee has signed an agreement to purchase Sierra Summit. The acquisition, which is expected to close by Apr. 30, will return Cohee to the area where he began his career nearly 30 years ago. Purchase price is said to be just under $4 million.

Cohee, who has been an executive at Kirkwood for much of the past 17 years, plans to revert the area's name to China Peak, its original name, and to launch a limited-membership Peak Club that will include a variety of lifetime VIP privileges.

At a cost of $5,000 for individuals to $20,000 for companies, club members will receive discounts on food, lodging and ski lessons as well as preferred parking, signature jackets, season passes and a variety of leisure events and get-togethers.

Cohee began his management career at Sierra Summit under current owner Dick Kun. He also served as a vice president at Heavenly and managed operations at Goldmine, now known as Bear Mountain and operated by Snow Summit.
