In a statement, Snowbowl said it looks forward to starting construction of the snowmaking system, and plans to proceed in cooperation with the Forest Service once the weather and other conditions permit in the spring of 2011.
"We have all of our permits from the Forest Service," said general manager J.R. Murray. "All that's left is the final planning and coordinating with the Forest Service. Our trails are all cruised for early spring construction." The area could be making snow by November 2011, he added.
"Snowbowl will proceed as it has in the past, in accordance with the legal process and Forest Service approval," said general partner Eric Borowsky. "We appreciate the time and effort that Judge Mary Murguia put into deciding this case. We are disappointed that these plaintiffs plan yet another appeal, but we are confident that the outcome of the District Court will be upheld."
