Plans were finalized this week during a dryland training camp at the USSA Center of Excellance in Park City where nine athletes were chosen, based on competition results from last season. Joining Hudak and Dumont are David Wise (Reno, NV), Torin Yater-Wallace (Basalt, Colo.), Tucker Perkins (North Hampton, N.H.), Gus Knworthy (Telluride, Colo.), Devin Logan (West Dover, Vt.), Jess Cumming (Beaver Creek, Colo.) and Brita Sigourney (Carmel, Calif.).
The selected athletes "have played a key role in the formation of their sport and helped influence the IOC decision to include halfpipe skiing through their skills as athletes," said U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing director Jeremy Forster. "These are the best American athletes competing in the sport today."
The new Pro Team program will provide athlete support at both dryland and on-snow events and competitions including the U.S. Halfpipe Grand Prix and X Games.
