SnoCountry Launches eNewsletter, Revamps Website

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine-Lebanon, N.H., Nov. 16, 2011-SnoCountry Ski Areas Association is launching SnoNews, a weekly consumer eNewsletter featuring original news and features on skiing, snowboarding, mountain resorts, travel, and lift ticket deals, on Nov .23.

SnoNews will email weekly to a list of more than 50,000-and growing-subscribers every week, giving resorts, lodging properties, and outdoor industry-related retailers another vehicle to directly target winter enthusiasts.

Veteran snow sports journalists and editors Craig Altschul and Peggi Simmons, who for many years played major roles at rival service OnTheSnow.com, are now part of the SnowNews editorial team. The duo has been involved in writing, editing, and researching news in the ski and snowboard industry since the early 1970s. Altschul will cover all aspects of snow sports news, while Simmons will research mountain travel news and resort deals for consumers.

"SnoCountry always has had the industry's best snow condition reporting programs, and I go back to the organization's roots in New England," Altschul said. "SnoCountry is nationwide and worldwide, so our goal is to join with a new team of seasoned writers in quickly bringing the website and new eNewsletter to the highest level of winter sports news coverage."

SnowNews debuts just ahead of the launch of the new SnoCountry.com website, which will incorporate several new and dynamic features and integrate social media.
