“A Day for Jake” to Honor Burton Founder Jake Carpenter

SAM Magazine—Burlington, Vt., Feb. 26, 2020—Burton Snowboards has organized “A Day for Jake,” Friday, March 13, 2020, to honor the memory and legacy of the company’s founder, Jake Burton Carpenter, who died in November. Thirteen mountain resorts around the world are celebrating by offering free lift tickets to snowboarders of all ability levels who pre-register to come out and ride in memory of the man credited with popularizing snowboarding.JakeBurtonWeb

A Day for Jake participating resorts are:

• Boyne Mountain, Mich.
• Summit at Snoqualmie, Wash.
• Big Sky Resort, Mont.
• Copper Mountain/Woodward Copper, Colo.
• Boreal/Woodward Tahoe, Calif.
• Stratton Mountain, Vt.
• Bear Mountain, Calif.
• Cypress Mountain, British Columbia, Canada
• Avoriaz, France
• Absolut Park, Flachauwinkl, Austria
• LAAX, Switzerland
• Madonna Di Campiglio, Italy
• Seki Onsen Resort, Nigata, Myoko, Japan

There are a limited number of free lift tickets being offered by each participating resort. Free tickets are for snowboarders only, and individuals must pre-register at www.adayforjake.com to get one. The website also has FAQs and additional information. Registration ends Sunday, March 8 at midnight. All registrants will get a commemorative armband and sticker pack, which are also available at Burton stores for riders that aren’t near a participating resort but want to get out and celebrate at their local area. Burton offices and owned stores will be closed on March 13.
