SAM Magazine—Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, Sept. 23, 2024—Andrew Rusynyk has been appointed as general manager of Pass Powderkeg (PPK) Ski Hill and the Pass Community Pool, both owned and operated by the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass.Powder Pass HN GM Rusynyk started on September 16 and has since been integrating into PPK’s operations, which include hiking and mountain biking in the summer. 

A former resident of Crowsnest Pass, Rusynyk has spent the past 11 years in ski area operations in Ontario, “an adventure in small hills and crowded slopes,” said a press release. Rusynyk previously served as GM of Hidden Valley Highlands, Ontario, and was GM of Batawa Ski Hill, Ontario, before that. Prior to the move to Ontario, he held leadership positions at Castle Mountain Resort and at Fortress Mountain and Nakiska Ski Area, Alberta.

“It is great to be back in the mountains in a place that feels like home” said Rusynyk. “I look forward to utilizing my many years of experience in the ski and resort industry to continue with the great work that has been done at both PPK and the Pool. Both facilities are a huge plus for the people of the Municipality of the Crowsnest Pass, and I want to make them as much fun as they can be.

“I look forward to seeing many, many smiling faces on the slopes in a few short months,” he said.
