Arapahoe Basin Joins Ikon Pass

  • Push to The Latest: No

SAM Magazine—Denver, Aug. 2, 2019—Arapahoe Basin’s ski season ended July 4, so it was officially unaffiliated with any other resorts or resort groups for less than a month before today, when it joined the Ikon Pass as a partner resort. Starting this winter, Ikon Pass holders will have seven days of access to A-Basin with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base passholders will have five days with select blackout dates. AbasinIkon

In February, A-Basin said it would not renew its longtime season pass partnership with Vail Resorts for the 2019-20 season, but planned to pursue discussions with other resorts and resort groups. Now the legendary resort is partnered with Alterra Mountain Company, Vail Resorts’ primary competitor.

“Arapahoe Basin is thrilled to partner with the Ikon Pass and join its community of like-minded mountain destinations. A-Basin is a bold, aspirational mountain with legendary character that invites skiers and riders to find adventure at every turn, an ideal fit for the Ikon Pass,” said A-Basin COO Alan Henceroth.

The Ikon Pass now provides access to 40 different destinations around the world, including six in Colorado.

“Arapahoe Basin is a beloved brand among skiers and riders and we are proud that the destination has joined the Ikon Pass community,” said Alterra Mountain Company chief marketing officer Erik Forsell.
