“I'm impressed with Scott’s team focus, entrepreneurial hustle, and his practical experience,” said Bluebird co-founder Jeff Woodward. “His extensive background in the ski industry along with his passion for community will translate well into our organization.”

Leigh began his career within the ski industry as a rental tech at Vail Ski Resort, Colo. He later served as regional director of both the Western Slope and Summit County regions for Vail Resorts. Most recently, Leigh was the general manager at Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin.

“Bluebird and its team have something special happening on the snow, and I’m looking forward to supporting their mission of reviving the soul of skiing and improving accessibility to the backcountry for skiers and riders of all abilities,” said Leigh. “I can already feel the welcoming culture of Bluebird and am very impressed with the team and volunteers.”

In addition to Leigh’s appointment, Bluebird also promoted Tiona Eversole to the role of marketing director. Eversole joined Bluebird as the marketing manager in January 2022. She previously served as marketing manager for Purgatory Resort and Hesperus Ski Area, Colo.

Bluebird is a “human-powered” backcountry ski area located between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs, Colo. The resort offers 4,200 skiable acres—1,200 of which are avalanche managed and patrolled—on 28 marked runs, with 11 skin tracks and zero lifts.
