SAM Magazine—Washington, D.C., Feb. 16, 2018—The U.S. Forest Service has commenced a series of “Regional Partner Roundtables” to gather feedback to improveHN USFSlogo 21618 processes related to environmental analysis and decision making (EADM). The roundtables provide resorts that operate on Forest Service land the opportunity to make suggestions for improving the efficiency of the processes associated with every improvement project that resorts undertake, according to the most recent NSAA Capitol Watch.

NSAA is encouraging representatives from resort and state associations to participate in their region’s roundtable to share the ski industry’s perspective. Anyone planning to attend is required to RSVP with the agency. NSAA and a number of member resorts and state associations have already filed comments.

The Region 1 roundtable in Missoula, Mont., has already occurred. Some of the roundtables have been scheduled, but others have not. All roundtables will be held by March 31, 2018. A draft rule is expected to be released by the agency in late spring, providing the ski industry yet another opportunity to weigh in on this important topic.
