SAM Magazine—Jay, Vt., Oct. 22, 2021—Jay Peak Resort will offer free lift tickets, free hot dogs, and free mini-instructional lessons on the first day of winter operations. JayDevotedThe “Day for the Devoted” is open to the first 1,000 people who register through the resort’s website. The resort typically opens for the winter season on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

“Our success as a business is grounded as much in strong, respectful relationships with our team members, community, and guests, as it is with products and pricing,” said Jay Peak president and general manager Steve Wright. “This is an opportunity to acknowledge those relationships, strengthen them, open the place up with easy access for as many as we can, and get this season off on a much better foot than last year.”

Registrants will receive a commemorative laminate that they can redeem later in the season for one free group ski/snowboard lesson, a free ticket and popcorn to a movie in the resort’s Clips-and-Reels Recreational Center, or one free skate or Stick-and-Puck session in the resort’s Ice Haus Indoor Arena. Resort employees and passholders are welcome to register for the day if they’d like to receive one of the laminates (and a hot-dog lunch).

“Last year wasn’t easy on anyone—employees, guests, or locals,” said Wright. “Acknowledging how much devoted Jay Peakers mean to us by returning some small measure of that devotion back to them feels like the right way to step into winter 2021-22.”
