Mt. Abram Expands Terrain, Snowmaking

  • Push to The Latest: No

According to reports, crews are installing water pipe only, and not air lines, along the new trails, which would be consistent with the ski area’s move toward using airless Nivis snow guns. Nivis’ technology doesn’t require compressed air, but uses the force of the water combined with aspirated ambient air to create snow.

“I’m incredibly excited to be able to continue to focus on creating the best possible skiing and riding experience through expansion of our snowmaking coverage, with our state of the art airless system, focused on energy efficiency and quality of product,” said Mt. Abram GM Dave Scanlan.

Opening day for the 2016-17 winter season at Mt. Abram is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Nov. 25.
