SAM Magazine—Fontcouverte-la Toussuire, France, April 22, 2025— Les Sybelles, one of Europe’s largest ski areas, is working with French company MND to develop a new, board game-themed attraction based on Trek 12, an adventure and mountaineering board game.MND LES SYBELLES TREK12 The year-round experience will include 27 installations spread across the resort.

MND, which has secured licensing rights to use the game’s themes in tourism projects, is scheduled to begin construction on the Les Sybelles project in summer 2026 and complete the work in 2027.

Trek 12 is a “roll and write” board game that takes players through an expedition in the Himalayas where they must map an area and set up climbing paths to the summits.

The attraction at Les Sybelles will feature game-inspired elements, including, according to a press release, “a mountain fitness trail, a pedestrian path, two playgrounds, a zen platform, a sensory trail, an educational trail, a chill zone, a fun trail, three themed zones (winter, summer, and family), an animal trail, panoramic activities and trails, a panoramic viewpoint/skywalk, a giant swing, three zip lines including one giant, and a breathtaking amphitheater.” Additional features are planned.

The installations will be connected and gamified, with some designed and built by MND subsidiary MBS. Most will be constructed from wood or other “bio-sourced materials,” using timber mainly sourced from French forests, MND said.

The project will span a large area of Les Sybelles and utilize existing infrastructure, such as hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing trails. “The experience will blend fun activities, walks, and contemplative spaces,” according to the press release.

A mobile app will accompany the installation. QR codes placed on-site will unlock additional content in the app that syncs with visitors’ real-time progress. “The aim is to connect the mobile app with the physical installations at Les Sybelles and the original board game,” said the release.
