SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, Feb. 4, 2025—Park City-based Pacific Group Resorts Inc., has acquired controlling interest in Powderhorn Mountain Resort just east of Grand Junction, Colo. The acquisition was made through PGRI subsidiary Powderhorn Pacific, LLC, which has operated the resort for the past six years. The Denver-based Gart family will continue to be minority partners in the resort and any future real estate development. PGR Powderhorn

Powderhorn has 1,600 acres of skiable terrain spread across 54 trails with 1,650 feet of vertical served by five lifts. It averages 250 inches of snow a year.

PGRI also owns Jay Peak, Vt.; Wintergreen Resort, Va., Wisp Resort, Md.; Mount Washington Alpine Resort, British Columbia, Canada; and operates Ragged Mountain, N.H.
