Vail Resorts Names Ogilvie Urban Ski Areas Vice President

  • Push to The Latest: No

Ogilvie is originally from the Chicago suburbs and grew up skiing Midwest ski areas. After attending college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he worked his way up through the ranks of the Vail and Beaver Creek Ski & Ride Schools and then held the position of general manager at Mt. Brighton. He was appointed GM at Wilmot in 2016 when the company acquired the ski area.

Ahead of the 2016-17 season, Ogilvie oversaw the transformation of Wilmot Mountain as the company invested in new lifts, an expanded snowmaking system, an updated terrain park, a complete overhaul of the entire base lodge and a separate table-service restaurant, and the creation of a new children’s ski school facility and a new beginner ski and snowboard area. Along with the physical transformation, Ogilvie led the Wilmot team in creating a new culture and guest-service approach for the ski area.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Taylor’s extensive experience with Vail Resorts, as well as his history at Mt. Brighton and Wilmot Mountain, to provide leadership for our teams in the Midwest,” said Chris Jarnot, the company’s mountain division executive vice president. “I am confident that Taylor will help us drive continued success as we grow our business and enhance the employee and guest experience across our urban ski areas.”
