FOR THE LADIES XS Helmets debuts its women’s snow sports helmet, a triple-certified, all-season model with women-specific sizing and fit. “We wanted to make something that women would really want to wear,” says Christine Breakell-Lee, co-owner and creative director. The helmets also come with a winter kit (faux leather and fur ear pads) to convert them from bike/skate use to skiing and snowboarding.

BRINGING SASSY BACK

Former U.S. racer Sterling Grant felt that women’s backpacks didn’t quite do justice to alpine fashions. As a new exhibitor this year, Sterling O’Keefe launches a new line of sports equipment backpacks. The innovative design angle includes extra back padding, laptop pocket, side snap hooks, heavy duty handles, and an internal drawstring bag to separate wet items from dry. The pack is both water- and abrasion-resistant and comes in sizes from 16L to 21L; there’s enough room for fashionable moms to carry the gear of multiple little ones. Fabrics include sequin, faux snake skin, cow hide, and more.

HIGH-TECH, HIGH-FASHION

Skida of Vermont is pushing the progression of women’s accessories with its show-stopping designs and versatile line of headbands, neckwarmers, bandannas and hats. The line features brushed thermal poly-spandex fabric, moisture management and anti-microbial technology. And local production allows Skida to keep the designs ever-evolving and always fresh. Roxy took technology one step further after polling female athletes to discover what’s missing from women’s winter apparel: skin care protection. A partnership with Biotherm allows Roxy’s neck warmers and jacket collars to incorporate skincare. Micro-encapsulation integrates millions of tiny capsules with skin care substances, including shea butter, apricot oil and Vitamin E, into the fabric. When exposed to friction, the capsules burst and release their contents directly onto the skin.
