Tubing continues to grow in popularity, both with customers and resorts looking to expand their revenue streams. Tubing, the low-skill relative of skiing and snowboarding, has quietly continued to grow over the past decade. Not only does the number of tubing areas nationally appear to be increasing, but ski areas with existing tubing operations tend to be expanding and upgrading. And the number of tubers appears to be rising, too. In a difficult economy, tubing has been easy money for clever and well-positioned resorts. The beauty of tubing is that it brings non-skiers into the winter sports mix, and the potential audience expands exponentially. Yet tubing isn't necessarily a smart choice...
