SAM Magazine—Truckee, Calif., Nov. 7, 2013—Several Western areas are adding value to their pass offerings. Sugar Bowl Resort has partnered with Sun Valley Resort, complementing a similar deal with Grand Targhee, Wyo., to give Sugar Bowl’s unrestricted and slightly restricted season passholders free skiing at both partner resorts (and vice versa). Similarly, Mt. Bachelor, Ore., Grand Targhee and Whitefish Mountain Resort, Mont., are offering a new multi-resort Mountain West 6-Pack.

The Sugar Bowl/Sun Valley partnership also offers Royal Gorge Cross County passholders complimentary cross-country skiing at Sun Valley Nordic Center. Combo Sugar Bowl/Royal Gorge unrestricted and slightly restricted passholders will have access to both downhill and cross country skiing at Sun Valley Resort. A two-night minimum stay in Sun Valley Resort Lodging is required for eligibility, and some blackouts apply.

In return, Sun Valley Resort full season and Sun plus passholders will have free skiing privileges at Sugar Bowl Resort; Sun Valley Nordic Center passholders will have free cross country at Royal Gorge; and Sun Valley full season and Sun plus combo passes will enjoy free skiing at both. The Lodge at Sugar Bowl will also offer discounted lodging options on a space available basis.

Sugar Bowl’s program with Grand Targhee allows Sugar Bowl passholders to ski the Wyoming resort for free when booked in conjunction with Grand Targhee lodging.

The Mountain West 6-Pack ($234) gives guests six days total at Mt. Bachelor, Grand Targhee, and Whitefish, with a maximum of three days at any one area. Christmas and Presidents’ holidays are excluded. The Mountain West 6-Pack will go on sale Nov. 8 at the Seattle Ski Dazzle and Snowbomb San Francisco Ski & Snowboard shows, and online at www.mountain6.com. It will be available only through Dec. 15.
