Sawins Purchase Idaho Tubing Hill

  • Push to The Latest: No

For this upcoming winter season X-Sports will increase snowmaking by 50 percent, host community events, and offer additional menu options at the area’s yurt. In addition, X-Sports will extend operating hours on weekends and school holidays. The Sawins aim to operate the tubing hill 50 days this winter, compared to an average of 25 days in the past.

A soft opening will be held at X-Sports on Nov. 21 to give visitors a look at the new vision for the area, including plans for summertime operations—the Sawins plan to build an adventure park that’s handicap accessible—and a Magic Carpet lift. Guests will have the opportunity to preview a 300-foot long mSnow Bumper Tubing lane that will be part of future summer ops.

Jason has 25 years of experience in the snowmaking industry and has previously worked at Colorado’s Steamboat Springs and Howelsen Hill Ski Area. When X-Sports initially opened, he designed the equipment for the hill’s snowmaking system that’s still in use today.
