Vail Annual Meeting Called on Account of Snow

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine-Broomfield, Colo., Dec. 20, 2006-Vail Resorts, for whom snow is the raison d'etre, has postponed its annual meeting due to a major winter storm moving across Colorado. The meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21, but by Wednesday afternoon, heavy snow and wind had brought travel to a standstill. More than a foot of snow on the Front Range, combined with winds gusting over 40 mph have created whiteout conditions, closing many major highways as well as Denver International Airport. Total accumulations were forecast to reach 18 to 24 inches by meeting time. As a result, the annual meeting will be held Jan. 4 at Renaissance Suites Hotel here. \
