SAM Magazine - Queenstown, New Zealand, September 18, 2008- New Zealand's Coronet Peak ski area is set to close on Sunday after a record season. According to the resort, the positive results on the year are due to improvements in both the base facilities as well as snowmaking. "It's been a huge journey through a major redevelopment program to get to this point," says Hamish McCrostie, Coronet Peak Ski Area manager.

NZSki Ltd. CEO James Coddington concurs, saying that Coronet Peak has enjoyed a record season this winter, largely due to the efficiencies of the new developments.

"Coronet has enjoyed record visitor numbers," says Coddington. "The SnowSports School and food and beverage departments have also broken records. It's been very satisfying following the challenge of redeveloping the base building and installing a major new snowmaking system."

The Queenstown ski season continues at the company's other ski areas, Mt. Hutt near Christchurch and also at The Remarkables Ski Area where the tentative closing date is October 12.
