Snow Hunter - New Zealand, November 1, 2008 - Snow was still falling last week as New Zealand's Mt. Hutt prepares for its final weekend opening of the winter from Friday, October 24th until 4p.m. on Monday, October 27th after closing during this week.

Ski Area Manager Dave Wilson commented, "It's been one of the best seasons in decades," he said. "We've had natural snowfalls of nearly six metres throughout the season building up to the magic three metre base in September - the largest base in 10 years."

Mr. Wilson said visitors to Mt Hutt this year had been treated to some amazing performances in a raft of first class events.

"We witnessed some really exciting competition in events like the ANC Finals, the Peak to Pub race and the inaugural Surf Snow Cup."
