Atomic USA Recalls Many 1998-2002 Bindings

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine-Ogden, Utah, Dec. 24-Atomic Ski USA, Inc. is carrying out a voluntary precautionary recall of heel components of certain bindings manufactured between 1998 and 2002. This recall applies to the below listed models of the Atomic Race, Xentrix, Device, Centro and Dynamic ski bindings produced between 1998 and 2002.

This safety recall is effective immediately, and these bindings should no longer be used. The heel housing component of these bindings could crack, possibly causing the binding to release early, posing a falling risk to the skier. The company is directing owners of these models to bring their skis to an authorized Atomic USA Ski Dealer, where an appropriate replacement of the affected heel components will be made free of charge.

"Bindings play a major role in ski safety equipment. We decided to conduct this voluntary, precautionary recall for the safety of our consumers who continue to enjoy these Atomic binding models today," said Michael Adams, general manager, Atomic USA.

To assist consumers in learning about this recall and in finding Atomic USA Ski Dealers where the affected heel components can be returned, Atomic USA recommends that consumers visit atomicsnow.com call Atomic USA's dedicated toll-free hotline, (888) 535-7555, or send an e-mail to
