SAM Magazine—Juneau, Alaska, Aug. 22, 2024—Craig Cimmons has been selected as the new general manager of Eaglecrest Ski Area, beginning in early October. Cimmons currently serves as the director of the ski and ride school and community engagement at Jay Peak, Vt. Eaglecrest HN

Cimmons was chosen from a pool of 17 applicants, according to a report from KTOO. Eaglecrest board president Mike Satre said he was one of "two well-qualified finalists for the position, and the board feels that Craig will be a welcome addition to the ski area. We all look forward to the contributions Craig will bring to Eaglecrest and the community."

The search for a new GM began after Dave Scanlan, who had served in the role since 2017, was asked by the Eaglecrest board of directors to submit his resignation, effective June 3. Erin Lupro, Eaglecrest director of snowsports school, rental, retail and repair, has served as interim general manager of the community-owned ski area since then.

Cimmons has led the Jay Peak snowsports school since 2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree in adventure recreation from Green Mountain College.
