“We are excited to expand Ikon Pass access in California by offering even more in the Tahoe area,” said Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer of Alterra Mountain Company. “Sierra-at-Tahoe is an ideal fit for the Ikon Pass community with its big snow and welcoming vibe.”

In addition, Taos Ski Valley, N.M., has rejoined the Ikon Base Pass for the 2024-25 season, expanding Ikon passholder access to the resort. Taos left the Base Pass ahead of winter 2023-24, restricting access to Base Plus and full Ikon Pass holders for that season.

For the 2024-25 season, Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days with select blackout dates at Taos Ski Valley and Sierra-at-Tahoe, and Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days with no blackout dates at both resorts. Sierra-at-Tahoe will also be available on the Ikon Session Pass. Taos Ski Valley will not.

“As the only South Lake Tahoe resort on the Ikon Pass, we’re excited to give skiers and riders a new opportunity to visit our slice of heaven,” said Sierra-at-Tahoe general manager John Rice.

Ikon Pass holders also receive unlimited access to Palisades Tahoe on the north end of the lake.
