Ross Boisvert

Ross Boisvert

MENTOR | President and General Manager, McIntyre Ski Area, Manchester, N.H.
Ross Boisvert has dedicated his entire career to McIntyre Ski Area, starting as a ski instructor at age 13. By 1989, he became snowsports director, and in 2009, he took over full operations, transitioning McIntyre to a privately owned ski area. Under his leadership, Ross has continuously improved the facility, from snowmaking to guest services. A longtime board member and past president of the PSIA-AASI Eastern Region board of directors, Ross was awarded a SAMMY Award in 2013 and the Einar Aas Award for Excellence in Snowsports School Management in 2021. He continues to enhance McIntyre, including opening The Hill Bar and Grille in 2020. Ross is passionate about introducing beginners to skiing and fostering a lifelong love for the sport.
Shannon Buhler

Shannon Buhler

MENTOR | Vice President and General Manager, Keystone Resort, Colo.
With nearly 20 years at Vail Resorts, Shannon Buhler has led departments at five resorts, including Vail and Breckenridge, Colo., and Stowe Mountain, Vt., and will soon lead Keystone. She played a key role in the Peak Resorts integration and led operations for Stowe’s historic ski patrol season. Shannon co-leads Vail Resorts' Women & Allies group, advocating for more women in leadership. Her focus on safety, performance, and team dynamics drives long-term growth. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her wife and two daughters.
Rich Burkley

Rich Burkley

MENTOR | CEO, Lake Louise Ski Resort & Summer Gondola, Lake Louise, Alberta
Rich Burkley is in his third season as CEO of Lake Louise Ski Resort and Summer Gondola, following a 33-year career with Aspen Skiing Company where he worked across various departments. Rich has been actively involved in industry and tourism organizations, serving on boards such as the Canada West Ski Areas Association, Colorado Passenger Tramway Board, and Travel Alberta. He currently lives in Banff, Alberta, with his wife Bobbie and has two grown children.
Kim Jones

Kim Jones

MENTOR | Vice President and General Counsel, WinSport Olympic Park, Calgary, Alberta
Kim Jones brings a remarkable blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and passion for the ski industry to her role as in-house legal counsel at WinSport, an urban ski area and former host of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. Her influence extends across Western Canada, particularly in the critical areas of safety and risk management. Kim has advanced industry-wide best practices and shaped supplier products, benefiting ski areas continent-wide. A mentor and leader, she has inspired her team to take on leadership roles within the industry. Kim is also a dedicated committee chair, frequent presenter at industry events, and serves as a director on the Canada West Ski Areas Association board. Amid all her professional accomplishments, she continues to prioritize her family above all else.
Karl Kapucinski

Karl Kapucinski

MENTOR | Chief Executive Officer, California Mountain Resort Company
Karl Kapuscinski is CEO and part of the ownership group of California Mountain Resort Company, which includes Mountain High, Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, and China Peak, Calif. His ski industry career began at 13 as a snowmaker in Vermont. By 23, he had become one of the youngest general managers in the country. He led Spirit Mountain in Minnesota to record seasons and revitalized Mountain High in Southern California. Karl also served as president/CEO of Stevens Pass, Wash., until 2023. A former president of the California Ski Area Association and SAMMY award recipient, Karl is a visionary leader dedicated to promoting diversity in winter sports.
Bridget Legnavsky

Bridget Legnavsky

MENTOR | Chief Executive Officer and President, Sugar Bowl, Calif.
With over two decades in snowsports, Bridget Legnavsky's journey began as an athlete, instructor, and coach, with her ultimately becoming president of the New Zealand Ski Instructors Alliance. As general manager of Cardrona Alpine Resort, she led its rise as New Zealand’s top resort and spearheaded the acquisition of Treble Cone Ski Resort. Bridget later became CXO of RealNZ, overseeing ski resorts and other attractions. In 2022, she took on the role of CEO and president at Sugar Bowl, where she’s built a strong team, rebranded the resort, and established it as a hub for world-class events. Bridget’s passion and strategic vision continue to drive her success in the ski industry.
J.R. Murray

J.R. Murray

MENTOR | Chief Planning Officer, Mountain Capital Partners
J.R. Murray's career has been marked by innovation and leadership in the ski industry. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Colorado State University, J.R. held leadership roles at Snowbasin Ski Area, Utah, and Sun Valley Resort, Idaho, before becoming general manager at Arizona Snowbowl. Over 30+ years, he transformed Snowbowl into a premier destination, earning accolades like the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Business Achiever Award and helping to found the Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance. A member of the NSAA board of directors, J.R. also has a long tenure with the Public Lands Committee. As chief planning officer, he leads major capital projects across all Mountain Capital Partners resorts.
Ken Rider

Ken Rider

MENTOR | General Manager, Brundage Mountain, Idaho
Ken Rider oversees all operations at Brundage Mountain Resort, bringing over three decades of experience in resort management across Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. He holds a business degree and an MBA from CU Boulder. Ken's career spans marketing, sales, and leadership roles at Copper Mountain and Winter Park, Colo., Tamarack, Idaho, and Grand Targhee and Snow King, Wyo. His leadership at Brundage has focused on enhancing guest experiences and operational excellence. When not at the resort, Ken enjoys snowboarding in the winter, biking in the summer, and supporting his teenage daughters at mountain bike races.
Karyn Thorr

Karyn Thorr

MENTOR | Chief Operating Officer, Crystal Mountain, Mich.
As COO of Crystal Mountain, Karyn Thorr oversees mountain operations, safety, snowsports school, and building engineering, while also serving as principal broker for Crystal Mountain Realty. A 30-year veteran of the resort industry, Karyn's passion for skiing began in northern Michigan, leading her to a career in recreation and hospitality after earning her degree from Central Michigan University. She joined Crystal in 1993 after working at Wintergreen Resort, Va. A Level III PSIA-AASI member and SAMMY Award recipient, Karyn is dedicated to community building and brings expertise in sales, marketing, and event planning. She enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and two daughters.
Brent Tregaskis

Brent Tregaskis

MENTOR | President & General Manager, Eldora Mountain Resort, Colo.
Brent Tregaskis has dedicated his entire career to the ski industry, starting as a ski racer and coach in Utah before earning a degree from Utah State University. He held management roles at Park City Mountain Resort, Utah, and Snow Summit Mountain Resort, Calif., where he rose to profit centers manager. Brent later restructured food and beverage operations at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyo., and served as general manager at Bear Mountain Ski and Golf Resort, Calif., for 17 years. In 2015, he became general manager of Eldora Mountain Resort and helped transition the resort under Powdr Corporation’s ownership. Brent serves on the executive committee of Colorado Ski Country USA and enjoys his role in shaping the industry.
Mike Unruh

Mike Unruh

MENTOR | Senior Vice President of Mountain Operations, Boyne Resorts
Mike Unruh oversees teams across Boyne Resorts' ten mountain resorts and Gatlinburg SkyPark, guiding operations to deliver top-tier skiing, riding, and summer recreation experiences. Previously, he led mountain operations at Big Sky Resort, where he oversaw the installation of North America’s first 8-place chairlift. Mike began his ski industry career at Copper Mountain in 1989, gaining expertise in lift maintenance, ski patrol, and major events. He has managed over a dozen chairlift installations and is currently leading a significant gondola project at Big Sky. An avid skier and cyclist, Mike is also a board member of the Snow Angel Foundation. He resides in Big Sky with his wife Jenner and their dog Rio.
Paul Thallner

Paul Thallner

EXPERT VOICE | Founder, High Peaks Group
Paul Thallner is the founder of High Peaks Group and has led major culture integration, transformation, and workplace analysis projects as a principal at Daggerwing Group, a global top 10 change consultancy, and as a partner at Great Place to Work. Paul played a key role in the initial development of the Summit Series program. For more than 25 years, he's been an organizational development expert, strategic advisor, executive coach, and facilitator. He's also the author of the new book “Reinventing Resilience: How Organizations Move Beyond Setbacks to Grow Through Challenges.”
Stu Singer

Stu Singer

EXPERT VOICE | CEO and Founder, WellPerformance
Stu Singer is the CEO and founder of WellPerformance, a performance psychology and leadership company. He has worked with top athletes and teams, including the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the WNBA’s 2019 champion Washington Mystics, where he served as Director of Performance Psychology. Stu now applies his expertise to corporate teams, working with companies like Ameriprise Financial, Sensata, and Hershey Hospitality. He holds a Psy.D. in Performance Psychology and has over 20 years of experience in high-performance environments. His work has been featured in the Boston Globe, Washington Post, and on ESPN.
