Monarch Extends Season, Stokes Out Season Pass Holders

  • Push to The Latest: No
SAM Magazine - Monarch, Colo., January 31, 2008 - Colorado's Monarch Mountain has announced that the resort will extend its season by one week, to April 13, 2008. The resort cites exceptional year-to-date snowfall for the extension. According to Monarch, the ski area has received more than 259 inches for December and January, a record amount.

"We opened late this year missing Thanksgiving, but we have more than made up for the late start," says Greg Ralph, marketing director. "We are going to add 7 days to the end of our season, we missed 16 days early, it sends a good message to our season pass holders that we are committed to giving them as much skiing as possible."

According the Ralph, with 285 inches on the year, the ski area is on track to exceed all snowfall records in Monarch's 69-year operating history. "Traditionally our snowiest months are still ahead of us," says Ralph.
